The Reverend John Hannes is an Ordained Minister and founder of Ideas Into Form, which teaches the creative process to individuals and non- profits. He has also served as a guest speaker throughout the country and as a Staff Minister at the Center for Spiritual Living Morristown
John’s background is extremely unusual for a New Thought minister. He is an engineer, business leader that brings together both logical and mystical thinking. He holds degrees in physics and electrical engineering and management. He has worked as a solid state physics researcher and in a later role John helped engineers in Silicon Valley make better electronic measurements. Moving to New Jersey he served as General Manager at an electronics design firm with responsibility for developing new products and growing revenue and profits. Today, he balances corporate work and philanthropic work in writing and experiencing Nature, leading Meditation Retreats, and building effective product teams making bringing new ideas to market.
He is a master facilitator and helps groups and leadership teams move through change with ease and grace as they generate new product ideas through understanding their greatness and then make plans that celebrate the individual and group’s genius in their markets.
John came to New Thought after a spring awakening while recovering from a heart opening medical procedure. Relating deeply to nature and the red tipped sprig of the Oak branch he experienced a transformation in thinking that led him to spiritual study. That Oak sprig remains a mystical symbol today. He has served as a Board of Trustee leader and facilitator at Morristown and has led the Teen and Youth programs. He is active in the Men's community at the Center and leads a group there. In adult classes he leads explorations of learning and where students gain deeper insights of themselves and understanding of Spiritual Principle. His speaking style blends the poetic, the mystical and the practical through metaphor and exploration of life’s questions and meaning while maintaining a great sense of humor. His spiritual idol is Ralph Waldo Emerson.
A husband and father of three sons John enjoys experiments in complex seasonings and grilling, hiking, photography, poetry, sailing, revolutionary era and Hudson River history and18th century canal life and commerce, and all great adventures.
